Fair. - sc - A 23 inch high by 16 inch wide wood engraving from the October 25, 1879 issue of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper. The image, titled "Summer Life at Niagara Falls - A Bridal Party Making a Trip Under the American Falls - 'A Breathing Spot on the Route'" depicts 2 young women in the arms of 2 men as a third looks on. Attired in rain gear, they struggle under the roaring waters of the falls which spills down and up the wooden walkway. At right, three others are crouched over while crossing a wooden bridge or walkway. Text is printed on the verso. Toned and chipped, with a few tears to the right edge. A piece is out from the top left corner and there are 2 other tears with small pieces out from the top edge. There are 5 pinholes along the darkened bottom edge. The edges could easily be matted out. The print is here depicted against stiff yellow paper upon which it was once attached.
