Very good. - sc The 7-1/4 inch high by 9 inch wide photograph depicts Lyndon Johnson, who was later to become President of the United States, seated at a conference table with Senators Wayne Morse and Richard Russell. This is a vintage photograph distributed by the International News Photos Company at the time, with the their eagle logo on the verso. The text for a press release printed on a sheet of paper is stapled to the left of the photo.

The text for the press release which accompanies the image reads as follows: "UMT (H) - ARMED SERVICES Committee of the Senate has advocated Universal Military Training. Senator Lyndon Johnson (left), who declares 'we must have the men,' is talking over the long-range measure with Sen. Wayne Morse (center) and Sen. Richard Russell, of Georgia.

Lyndon Johnson was later elected as Vice President under President John F. Kennedy. He assumed the Presidency upon the assassination of President Kennedy and was soon embroiled in the Vietnam conflict.
