On the Pacific front in World War II the Japanese and Americans began picking up unintelligible messages which turned out to be communications between Navajo Indians in a code based on their language. This code, unbreakable by anyone but the Navajos, could be used to send and receive messages that would be indecipherable by the enemy. Thereafter the Navajo code talkers participated in key battles and maneuvers on the Pacific front. Dust jacket present. First Edition.
