Vermont, Circa [1890's]., [1890's].. Fine. - Ebenezer J. Ormsbee has penned his name above the dates "1886 - 1888" and office "Governor of Vermont" on 2-1/4 inch high by 3-3/4 inch wide card stock. Near fine. Vermont's 41st Governor Ebenezer J. Ormsbee (1834-1924) was a teacher, lawyer and American Civil War Veteran who served in the "Allen Greys" which became Company G of the 1st Vermont Infantry. He served as 2nd Lieutenant for his 3 month term before joining the Company G, 12th Vermont Infantry as its captain. On his return Ormsbee practiced law and held various political offices before running for Governor of his state. First Edition.
