- 37 words penned in black ink on a 9-1/2 inch high by 7-5/8 inch wide sheet of gray notepaper. Signed "Josiah Quincy" The corners & edges of the letter are creased & there is a small gray stain near the right edge. Folded 3 times for mailing. Very good. Quincy writes from the St. Nicholas Hotel in New York to an S. L. Vannivy in Albany suggesting alternative dates for a lecture. Josiah Quincy III [1772-1864] was an American educator and politician.
